Break out of textbooks and dive into a world of texture, color, and layered art! In this mixed-media art studio, young creators combine traditional fine arts with unconventional materials to build artistic expression in 2D and 3D projects. Students will experiment with watercolor, acrylics, pastels, textiles, found objects, clay, printmaking, and collage. Rather than just following step-by-step instructions, young artists learn to combine techniques, think flexibly, and discover their own unique visual voice in a supportive, process-driven space with an instructor-led environment. Roll up your sleeves and step into the BuilderSpace! In this high-energy, hands-on studio, young builders tackle real-world architectural and structural engineering challenges. Become the voice of RISE! In this dynamic, hands-on media lab, student reporters step behind the microphone and onto the beat to bring local stories to life. Participants will learn the core skills of modern journalism—investigating school news, conducting peer and guest interviews, writing captivating headlines, effective public speaking skills and capturing photojournalism. Then, they’ll bring those stories to the airwaves by writing, recording, and producing podcasts and digital news broadcasts. Students will build public speaking confidence, sharp media literacy, and non-fiction writing skills as they publish their very own student-led news segments. (Recommended Ages 4 - 10 yrs)
